Lower Latourell Falls, Columbia River Gorge, Oregon, December 2009
The massive pile of ice at the base of the falls (~20 feet high) was very impressive! All critiques/comments are appreciated.

The smooth water really contrast the sharp detail in the ice Scott

Quite a sight, Scott. You certainly composed it well. I really enjoy the foreground textures.

The ice really makes this photo unique. I like your choice in composition to only include the bottom of the falls and all the foreground ice.

Scott,

Excellent and nicely balanced composition. I really like the ice shelves and the flow of the water in the foreground; and that foreground is a nice "fallout" of the falls and ice above - actually tells a great nature story. Now I don't mean to take away from this, but the flow of the waterfall in to the scene makes me think of Star Trek.... "beam me up Scottie!" But seriously, this is a beautifully seen and crafted image.

That's quite a snow cone. Great shot.

I really appreciate this comp Scott, and I truly get a sense of the distance from front to back--something which I struggle with in my shots. Really great.

Hi Scott

Good depth, compo and aperture, only nit I see is the texture of the massive pile of ice, it's a pity but is gone, Could you try to recover some highlights of that?

I love this winter scene

That foreground rocks. Really. So much that I'd almost say it becomes the main subject, and makes me a bit unsure as to the merits of the waterfall dropping into the scene out of nowhere. Has anybody suggested a vertical pano yet?
