My favorite new stream with the stepped waterfalls is nicely iced while still maintaing a strong flow of water. Most photos from there will have to be in M&N, but I took this as a close-up/abstract of an interesting part of the falls, from a distance. Like the shades of blue, and even what appears to be a leaf sitting on the snowy "ledge" on the LHS. Cropped about 20%, slight color/contrast adjstmts. The sun was just hitting the horizon, so i shot it at ISO-80, 1/13th second for luck ;), and at f-8.0 on tripod. VERY cold morning! C&C always welcomed. Larger posted too.

A very nice photograph Bill. I like the rather close up view of the fall very much. The blues and the light do a lot of favour to the scene.

Hi Bill. I like this close up of this fall and the texture of the waters movement. In my opinion I think I would try to crop the top so the photo starts at the base of the upper falls. Just my thoughts though, still very nice just the same. :toast:

Thanks Dietrich and John... This isn't my favorite comp I'd say to be honest, and I thought about that crop that you suggest John, probably a good idea. I just couldn't bring myself to take that one chunk of blueish ice near the TLC out of the image!! Do think the details came out pretty well anyway. :toast:

Great shot Bill, the motion of the water is perfect. I agree with the suggested crop.

Bill,

Very good tight, intimate winter frozen river scenic. It's almost to broad a view for me to consider it an abstract, but that's neither here nor there... I'm most intrigued with the ice and cascade through the middle and would agree about a crop from the top; if anything I think that would make it more abstract. Anyway, nice job with the exposure and overall composition.

Interesting shapes, textures, and motion here, Bill. One of your best, I think.

Crop from the top, as suggested, and slightly from the right.

Very nice Scene, Bill and detail is great in large version. Also like the detail and exposure in the falls. I actually like the first one better, mainly because I'm not to crazy about the bright URC in the second.
