Sorry for my lack of time spent here in the best floral gallery on earth. It was a good end to the year as I did my first showing at a 1/2 day Christmas parade/fair and sold 7 prints. I hope all had a very merry Christmas, and will have a very wonderful 2010. All the postings have been wonderful here and I hope to comment on as many as possable.

A beautiful shot with great control of the whites. Excellent sharpness and dof as well.

Robert,
You nailed the whites nicely--those I find challenging in most situations. I would like to see more of the whole flower as some of the cutoff petals are a bit awkward. The dark green leaf tip at the upper left is also distracting to me. With these few tweaks, this is a excellent shot.

Robert,

I think I might like this a little sharper and brighter but it may just be my monitor on this MacBook. The whites are beautiful. The comp also works for me and I like the image as posted.

The whites are extraordinarily good, Robert - a beautiful frame for the perfectly captured centre.

A happy new year to you Bob. I also would like to see a little brightening of the whites and more sharpening in the center. Beautiful flower and good dof :toast:

Bob: I don't recall this specific shot but I do think you posted some other magnolias. I like this as is and could also see a much tighter crop filling the frame with the petals and center. Nicely done.>=))>
