This shot from the Mostnica Gorge in Slovenia shots the entrance to the final narrow part of the gorge. This was as far as one could walk along the shore of the creek - from then on it was just looking or climbing down.
Canon 5DMII, Zeiss VS 35-70mm@35mm, 5s-f/11-ISO50, Polarizer and ND3. For editing I tried to new demo of NIK Viveza 2. It's wonderful - give it a try.

Have a GREAT 2010 everybody - stay healthy and make great images. Thanks for all your help and support throughout 2009 - I've learned and seen so many things here which made my photography a little better once again.

There's a LARGER VERSION there too.

Beautiful Andreas. The mix of colors here is incredible. That green pool looks REALLY inviting. I like your intimate composition.

I like the colors, the detail, and the intimate nature of this view... The contrast between the scattered, warm-colored leaves and the green/blue of mosses and water works very well. I like less the top part, somehow I feel distracted by the fact that the big stones are chopped off. Perhaps either enlarging the view to catch some more of them, or reducing it not to show much of them ?

Happy and peaceful 2010 !

You've found a beautiful place here, the colors are awesome and I really like the green pool in the back. I think for myself I would crop out the gray rocks in the back ground.

great andreas. love these images of yours, very natural looking. allway´s sharp and full of detail, you´re greens are fabulous. it´s kind of weird to see we all have different tastes and thoughts, and thats just good. for me, I would prefer to crop the bottom, I find the mid and top beautiful and to emphazise it more Í think a small crop in the fg would help a lot. the fg is fabulous covered by those leafs but loosing some of it to enchance the mid and upper half wouldn´t take it´s beauty still, imho. just a thought. it would also stonger the water diagonal. a great 2010 for you too and you´re family.

Thanks for your comments.
I would also rather crop a little from the bottom than from the top. The reason for it is, that I remember the place so well and the upper part actually is the entrance to the narrow and steep part of the gorge. Removing that rocks up there would completely remove that feel for me as well. But I'm biased here.

Andreas,

An enjoyable series, and thanks for the bit of "travelogue."

I find the pool and rocks at the top especially engaging.

Andreas,

A lovely and beautifully composed image. I really like the color combo between the greens of the moss and the warm browns of the fallen leaves. The cascade draining the pool ties it all together.

I'm glad you mentioned the crop from the bottom because that was going to be my suggestion. I think in this particular image that the 4x5 format would fit quite nicely.

GRRR ... all you large format photographers with your 4x5 crops ... *jk*. Here's a 4x5 version of the shot - looks good too.

the larger version is quiet something. I really enjoyed all those minor details. the comp with the inward flow of water works pretty fine for me. This must look really good in prints.

just wonderful, Andreas - very lush and peaceful mood here. IMO there's a bit too much fg moss, so would consider a 4x5 crop - but really, this is excellent! :toast:
(oops, now I see the repost - perfect!)

You have certainly had some good water scenes this year, Andreas, and this is right up there with the best. The moss-covered rocks are really special.
