I have a new favorite duck! This one is a first for me, so I was thrilled just to have seen it, and he turned out to be very cooperative. This one was handheld, kneeling in about 8" of freezing cold water, but I have others from a tripod...I just didn't want him to fly away first!

Amazing lighting and even better detail! Looks like it was worth the cold water. . . excellent to get this close.

ooooo-cool!!
Beautiful duck, great detail and colors. the blue seems a bit over-saturated here, and competes with the duck's colors.
Lovely water too.

Sharon,

It looks like kneeling in that cold water paid off, this is a fine image! The blues look great on my monitor and compliment the colors of the duck handsomely.

A very lovely & appealing image as presented.

This is great Sharon. Exposure, colors, detail sharpness and lighting all look very good and I love the head position in that light. Really a nice shot!

Love the light on the face and that rich blue water. I like the cock of the birds head very much too. Excellent image of a bird I have yet to see. Well done, cold water and all.

Very sharp photo in wonderful lighting, Sharon. Tough to get good detail in the head and wings of these guys, but you've gotten both......well done!
