This is really nice with good sharpness and depth of field. If I were picky I might like a little more room on right side and bottom.

Ian, great job of getting him to stand of the lip of that rise so you could achieve that perfect soft bokeh background! Nice posting.

Hi Ian,
Yep, this image bears the recognizable "Ian Mason" look to it! Nicely composed and very clean and simple - well done. Image detail and exposure look spot-on and the stag gave you a very nice pose. You mention that it was over-cast when you shot this - which is a great time to move in for a tight crop and capture all the subtle tones in the animal's pelage. Is the stag's throat swollen? I've never noticed this "throat lump" before in other images of Red Deer (or our elk)...just curious...
Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

A classical and very pleasant stag portrait... Sharp detail, creamy background, and warm burnt colors... The ovecast sky helped a lot. Very nice!

Sorry for the delay. As far as I know, they are all like this - certainly all the examples I saw that day.

Neat image, technically solid, very well captured!
I too like Scott would prefer some more room on the right side.

A mots impressive pose, and I like the smooth background blur.
