Wee Rowan Tree

Nikon D2Xs
Tokina 12-24
Portree, Isle of Skye, Scotland

Not a perfect shot because of the crappy way the D2Xs handles longish exposures at high ISO values, but one that I suddenly wanted to shoot this very evening and now want to share for sentimental reasons.

This is the tree I share a lot with of what's going on in my life. I told it about the girl I fell in love with about half a year ago, and less than two months after that, in an elated state, I was able to introduce her to the tree and we spent a long time sitting together underneath it. Now she's in Australia, where she lives, and I'm in Scotland, where I live, and I'm waiting for the weeks to pass until I can finally make the journey to meet her again half a world away!

That's one special tree, Arthur. I wish all my pictures had even half as much meaning.

Beautiful photo Arthur. I love the night sky, and the tree and landscape are really complimented by it.
I'm in a similar situation myself. I have my tree of my own and a girl that right now, is on the other side of the world.
