To be jolly, ho, ho, ho!!!!!

Well, another year is coming to an end. I hope it has been a good one for everyone. Even though it has been rough for us all in some way or another.

I have had some of my best outings from a photography standpoint this year. I hope everyone here has a great Christmas, and New Year. I appreciate all the great feedback, and the friendships I have gained from being involved here on NPN.

This is from my first outing in the snow on snowshoes. North of Truckee, along Sagehen Creek. It looks like compression is hurting, so I've included a larger one as well.

Merry Christmas,

Chris

Chris,

This is a wonderful winter - and dare I say, Christmas image. What I am really enjoying here are the simple subtleties... the reds of the willows and the touch of blue in the sky. The comp is excellent, although I may consider cropping a portion of the bottom - as much as 1/2 of the dark creek space at the bottom - but that's minor. A beautiful winter image.

Merry Christmas to you and your family - and the best in 2010!

Beautiful winter image Chris. Great composition, perfect processing of the whites/snow and the trees. Really like the reds of the brush in contrast to the wintery white. Works exquisitely as a Christmas image. Thanks for sharing the large image. Gorgeous work. Merry Christmas.

Merry Chirstmas Chris. Beautiful winter scene. I like the splash of amber brush in the mid ground. Nice comp too.

Love the snow draped trees and the big, what looks like a marshmallow in the creek. Beautiful winter image. Merry Christmas!

Composition is enjoyable. Marshmellow in stream ...so apt. The snow's lil shadows add much to this. The inky black stream really leads the eye. Nice capture!

This is a super composition Chris! All the lines and forms work well together here. A wonderful winter images and it fits so nicely as a Christmas image. I also like the almost monochromatic look.

Beautiful winter scene, and I especially like the open water and the touch of color along with the snow covered bolder, really carries a very nice mood. Beautiful work Chris, and a Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Lovely winter scene Chris, nice work keeping some detail in the snow, and I like the touch of red in the distant brush. I agree with Lon's idea of cropping the dark creek off. Nice work.

Merry Christmas Chris

This certainly gets you in the wintery mood! Love how the shrubs in the creeks turn red in the Sierra.

Merry Christmas Chris! What a difference looking at the large version, where the texture of the snow really becomes apparent, and the color in the brush or bushes really jumps out. A beautiful image.

The image popped up on my monitor with only the sky, snowy trees and brush viewable, that makes a lovely shot in and of itself!! Well done, thanks!

Hi Chris,
Belated Merry Christmas to you also! As mentioned below this has a very nice simplicity to it yet the textures and layers in the larger version really stand out. Very nicely done.
