The interface between darkness and light...
This was taken from the same ice cave as my last post, a couple hours earlier in late afternoon, from the mouth of the cave.
5DMkII; 17-40; 3exp blend at f/16; B&W conversion
C&C Welcome!

Very nice indeed Stan, definitely like the way you composed this. Excellent blend, and beautifully done.

This is a great perspective. I like the BW treatment much more than the color version. I see some dust spots in the URC.

The yetti must have woke up. All the detail and tones are nice but maybe a little too much white clouds in the frame. Happy Holidays Stan.

I like it Stan. This works for me because of the strong lines. The ice and the snow are an interesting and appealing subject matter.

Hi Stan,

I think the unconventional composition works well and I like this one more than your last post. The processing looks good too...A very unique and original image. Happy Holidays, Michael

I give it an A. Would be an A+ if the clouds were broken up a bit, but you had no control over that. I thought you could have done something about it since you have an 'in' at the national weather service.

This is a wonderful and very interesting perspective.
B&W appears to be a great choice. Like others, I do wish the clouds were broken up a bit more.

I was pleasantly surprised to see your name on the fromt page of the Durango Herald today! Didn't realize that you acted as a spokesman for the NWS. You do that all the time or were you just filling in?

I like the pespective Stan. A little unconvention but it works for me as well as the B&W conversion.

Cool!! I really like this one. The black and white works very good. Normally I wouldn't like the distortion, but it works effectively here. I even like the white sky. It makes for a dramatic back drop to the tree line.

Sweet comp and subject choice Stan. I thought your first post was interesting but 'overpainted' on the LHS, but this is much more pleasing. The conversion worked nicely too. Well done mate.

Stan,
Absolutely love the BW here. The contrast with the cave and ice and the clouds in the sky really are striking. Well done. Best Regards and Happy Holidays!
