A decent fox photo has been on my list for a long time. I was able to make this image during a recent snow. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for taking a look.

I like the pose and the great setting you've captured. Overall, the image has a bit of a pinkish hue on my monitor.

Hello Mike,
This is a fine image except for the magenta cast.

I love the fluffed up coat, the fact that the fox isn't looking toward the camera, and the snow snow snow. I agree about the pinkish cast.

Nice comp and I like all the snow. Could be just a little brighter. Plus it looks just a little red on my screen.

I have gone back and tried to remove the pink cast. Hope this looks better.

Thanks for the comments!

The repost is really nice. I like the snow in the air and the yucca plants and grass seed heads as supporting elements.

A very nice photo Mike. Well composed and an excellent capture showing the cold environment these foxes live in.
Congrats!

I like the way you composed this Mike, the look back is even better than a straight side view I think. The falling snow flakes superimposed on his body add a lot, it must have really been coming down. It would be nice to see a larger view. Congratulations on getting this fine image, I'm still hoping for one of this species.

Hi Mike,

Well - check that one off your list - you've definitely got a more-than-decent fox photo now! I like the snow flakes in the scene (and of course how the fox is looking very intent on something outside the left side of the frame). Compositionally I like what you've done here. And...the re-post does look significantly better on my monitor (the pink/magenta cast was quite noticeable in the original post).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this and congrats on the "check-mark" on your list...

Nice image, Mike. What lense was you using? I see foxes around my area quite a bit but I can't seem to get a decent photo of one. By the way, the re-post looks much better, nice job.

Pretty fox. Nice image, I would like to be able to see its eye better. Maybe just a little local sharpening, or lightening of that small area? YMMV

Mike,
I like the comp and colors. The expression on the face is typical: hyper aware, keen to take advantage of any food opportunity or bolt if necessary.
For such a high ISO, the image appears remarkably free of noise.
