Leopard Lookout

Photo was taken in South Africa, this past September, after tracking this beauty for a couple of hours. Used a 70-200 f/2.8 lens on a Canon 5D, set at f/2.8. The RAW image has been cropped, with some adjustments made to make it a little brighter, sharper and distinct.

A very beautiful animal indeed Patricia! Love the over the shoulder look here. I do feel it's a shame about the light background, it does distract a little but there was nothing you could do about it! :wavey:

Is this the same leopard you have shared with us before Pat? A good looking specimen. Photographing leopards in trees succesfully is dificult to say the least. Either foliage is in the way or (in your case) is not there at all and often the contrast between the light BG and the darkness of the tree and subject pose some really hard exposure challenges. Maybe it is clear that I prefer them on the ground! Unfortunately they like sitting in trees...
I like the over the shoulder look here, as well as the good detail on the animal, but the brightness of the BG is quite overpowering IMO and detracts from my appreciation of the image.

unfortunately the background doesn't help. I know how difficult is just catching a Leopard, and if it is possible it is more difficult to get it while on a tree branch. anyway great details ant the over the shoulder looking is great.
