I am not often posting on the bird forum, but after our trip to Costa Rica I suddenly have so many bird photos!
While we were searching for Quetzals, this cute little bird was following in our footsteps.
What a smart bird to go for the insects that were disturbed by us walking through the dead leaves on the forest floor. We did find the Quetzal, I will post this later on.

D300, Sigma 170-500@340, F6, 1/50, tripod. :wavey:

The bird is so sweetly dainty and wonderfully colored. You have nice details and the pose is precious. Gorgeous background to set it off too. Wish I would be followed by something so adorable.

Very nice find Ellen and beautifully captured. I especially enjoyed the larger version.

Ellen, I also think this bird is "delighful". Different lighting and background but it works for me. To my amateur eye there does seem to be some sort of artifacting going on around the background branch tip to the right.

Great to see you over here in avian Ellen, wonderful shot of a tough species, I agree with Ron that there seems to be something odd with that branch. :toast:
