Solitary Sandpiper

I checked my local pond everyday this fall waiting for the sandpipers to return. I was delighted this day to find two Solitary Sandpipers. I squatted by the edge of the pond for a very long time...until my legs fell asleep! Finally they made their way towards me.

Janet,

This image interests me. I like the reflection and the ripples very much. There's a lot going on in this though. The diagonals in the upper third, the plant reflections in the lower right and even the striations on the bank to some extent tend to take the emphasis away from the bird - at least for me. That would be alright but the patterns seem to be a little discordant. That said, I keep coming back and looking at this. I think overall, I like the image.
