Old Man rising
by Emmanuel Coupe
This is from my last trip to Scotland and the Isle of Skye.
I was running a little late going up to the Old Man due to stomach problems that were torturing me all night and most of that morning. As I was nearing the location I noticed the light was turning red very fast and I had the last and most steep part to walk still. It was painful but once I set my tripod and started composing my frames the illness was forgotten.

Marc ,thank you for the new word Juxapositioning.
This is lovely, so pristine and delicate, yet there are those jagged spires in the foreground. I love how you have worked all of these elements into a cohesive whole.
You're obviously a dedicated photographer to have suffered a tough night and still forced yourself out early. Congrats on that. That's what it takes. I'm happy to tell you that it was worth it. Detailed, interesting foreground, nice middle and kind of mystical background. Makes me want to visit Scotland. Um, isn't the Isle of Skye where some of the best scotch in the world is produced?
What a grandiose landscape view; the grand vista and beautiful pastel skies makes one feel like the landscape stretches forever. Combined with the stature of the rock formations and you've crafted a wonderful image.
My only minor wish would be for a tad more room at the bottom as I would love to see more of those wonderful Scottish greens... :-)

i'd suggest less ale, less whiskey and fewer deep-fried mars bars while in scotland, though, to avoid the stomach issues!
@Floris: I'm a little curious as well to see if it needs a touch of light on the rocks for printing, thanks for pointing that it out.
@ Stuart & Christer: Unfortunate whiskey doesn't do it for me but then again I really never drink especially when I travel and Haggis I stay far far away from. Luckily I was with a pharmacist on this trip and he gave me something for the pain and few day later a was fully recovered. But the night before going up to the Old Man was a pure hell and going up the next morning was not easy.
Nice shot.
the light is amazing
Well done
