Doe portrait

This doe actually approached quite close to the blind I was shooting from (first day out with the 500mm F4 P Nikkor), hence the portrait -style composition. I am a little bothered by the OoF grass to the left of the frame, but have been reluctant to try and clone it out given the varied background. Any thoughts on dealing with this (or not, for that matter) appreciated.

Nice portrait David!
I enjoy shooting the doe's as much as the bucks. I really like the use of the habitat to frame her with complimentary splashes of color. IMO the forehead hair seems to show evidence of over sharpening.
Very good work!

Beautiful portrait of this doe David. Nice sharp detail in it's eye's and nose and I like the color of it along with the OOF weeds in the BG. I've had very little success with cloning so sorry I can't give any advice on that. Great job. :toast:

Simply sweet protrait in great light, David. I'm not sure if I would worry about oof grass to much.

What a nice and clean, sleek doe. Great light! I think you might be able to reduce the impact of the bright oof grass by selectively darkening and maybe slight de-saturating the yellow.

Lovely portrait David. That light is drop-dead gorgeous and the clarity and sharpness are excellent. A real pity about that OOF grass in the FG and I can see your urge to get rid of it. However, that would be a comprehensive cloning job and one that is bound to leave evidence behind to a good critics eye... The bright stalk growing out of the deer's head is also a bit unfortunate. Rather than cloning this and the OOF FG grass out, I would try to tone it down and maybe desaturate it a little as per Lon's suggestions.

Beautiful light and nice eye contact as well. The grasses really do not bother me.

I like it as is David and wouldn't sweat the oof grass. Forehead is a bit oversharpened in appearance.
