Another one from Abraham lake, farther down the shore line. Taken just before sunrise. I thought the ice coated sticks made for an interesting fg feature.

Those ice covered sticks are an awesome FG, Dan. Really unique. I bet they're even more of a joy in a large print. I'd probably clone out the intruding cloud on the left just above the mountain shoulder. That's a super nit-picky thing as overall this is a killer image.

The ice covered twigs do add interest Dan. I also like the comp and how the shoreline leads to the mountain.

Dan,

Bret stole my thunder by mentioning the cloud. It must be the placement or something, but it's like a super magnet pulling my eye right to it. Aside from that, this is a wonderfully composed scene and the little foreground ice sculptures are fascinating. I would go as far as saying that I think they look like frozen "praying mantis' " Uncanny resemblance in my mind. :-) Great work!

Great image Dan. The ice covered sticks are really remarkable. Must have been a cold wind you experienced for the ice to form on the sticks. Nice composition. Well done.

Yes the "ice sticks" are an interesting foreground element. I think it would have been an improvement if you had gotten in still closer, so that the closest one had been even more prominent. And as Bret mentioned, that cut off cloud on the left has got to go.

I'm digging the ice too. I'd vote for lower and closer perspective to shrink the area between the sticks and the mountain.

Looking chilly. The blueness really adds to the story. I'm wondering how a little sun on the peaks would change the image? It might give it a little more dimension.

this is really nice. these twigs covered by the ice are very apealing. one can feel the freezing conditions here. I would clone that left cloud as bret mentioned, a tad distracting. great comp.

The ice sticks make a really great foreground, and the shoreline leads the eyes through the scene very well. Lose the left cloud as mentioned and this will be a winner.
