WC#407 Feeding The Green
by Aaron Ellingsen
Golden Falls spills some 200 feet into Glenn Creek at Golden And Silver Falls State Park in Southern Oregon. During the winter, this area below the falls is stripped bare by extreme water flows. By May, however, the same water that earlier erased the creek bed of its plant life is the driving force that helps renew the area, fueling the perpetual cycle.
Thanks for any thoughts or critique.

4 commentsMy only concern here is the amount of mid-ground. I like the foreground fern and the distant waterfall nicely framed by the mossy branches. But, the swath of grass doesn't do as much for me as it probably should and the creek feels very far away and small. I can see another fern about 10-15 feet into the mid-ground, it might have been a better central subject just to make the image tighter.
I suppose you wanted to show this swath that is washed clean each winter and removing too much of it would hinder that narrative.
I'm a "tilt" guy. Wonder if the left side, brought up, would add anythhing. Seems left side-tilted to my eye but only slightly. Ah, the "eye of the beholder".
