Hi Jake,

Nice interaction you've captured here - I agree with Luke that mom looks proud. I'm not 100% sure the pano crop is needed here, tho' I'd have to see the full frame version before suggesting anything that would work better (if a better crop exists). The shot may be level, but the line in the foreground and background make it appear to be slightly off-level - might be worth doing a slight CCW rotation on the image...

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Cool shot Jake. What is the kit holding, a ground squirrel? This image makes me curious to find out whether he caught it himself or mom gave it to him. I do not mind the pano crop, to me it works, and I think it was a particular good choice if it has been cropped from the bottom. I am not too sure a CCW rotation would help, that would make the subjects and grasses look weird I think.

Love the way the cheeky pup is trying to run away and refusing to share the kill with the mother. The image may need to be rotated ccw a tad, but I'm a litte nervous about suggesting this because you say..."...the man who really counts in the world is the doer, not the mere critic-the man who actually does the work, even if roughly and imperfectly, not the man who only talks or writes about how it ought to be done."

I like the story this tells! Good horizontal presentation. The little guy is sure cute and his catch lights really enhance this capture.

Thanks for the comments.

The unlucky critter was a thirteen-lined ground squirrel, mom or dad came to the den carrying about four of them, and placed them in a small hole she/he dug. Did not take long for the pups to find them, grab one and head to the den to feed. Here is a non pano version for comparison.
