Falling Into Sunlight

After being tied up for a couple of weeks, I was delighted to find so many wonderful sights when I checked this WC. They reminded me of some waterfall images that I never posted, so I dug this one up. It’s High Falls, a site on private land that fellow NPNer Steve Fogel shared with John Benway and me over a year ago. We each posted just one or two, and I regretted not picking one that highlighted the Sun streaking through the mist. I have mixed feelings about the hemlock tree on the right side, but I like it better than similar images I have without that added greenery.

What a gorgeous waterfall. The depth is terrific and I really like how you framed it. Very nice job on the exposure and processing it must have been difficult with the fall in shadow with the highlights in the lower part.

A really beautiful photo - If I'm ever in upstate NY I'll have to get myself an invite to this place! I'm not surprised to see your talents outside of your usual macro and avian work.

What a beautiful scene. The streaks of sunlight and framing by the hemlock make it extraordinary... and its depth and height are amazing. Why don't you run a trip for NENP or whatever forum you belong? You have soooo many wonderful spots that you have captured.

Cool! What an amazing waterfall. I kind of like the tree on the rhs, but that little bit of sky up top bugs me a bit. Pretty tricky though because i think it helps to show the top of the falls. Looks like a ton of possiblilities here. Thanks for sharing, Wayne!

The light is gorgeous here Wayne. The tree on the right is a nice framing element and it works for me. The opening at the top reminds me of a gateway or a window. Beautiful scene indeed.

Great shot, Wayne. The repeated angles in the rock on the right of the upper falls and the vertical lines in the water give this a mystical feel, like the entrance to some ancient ruins. I think a slight crop of the sky may enhance that feeling.

Hi Wayne,
I really like this. The hemlock on the right doesn't bother me at all. I think it helps frame the falls. The top looks like an archway. Nice job on the exposure, which, as previously mentioned, must have been challenging. Beautiful.
