Patti: We like beginners here so a big welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a fine first post here. Good solid comp and exposure although some of the whites are a tiny bit hot. I like your DOF choice and the BG. I might consider cloning away the bug on the petal and maybe even the one on the center of the flower. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more. You're off to a great start.>=))>

Hi Patti, I too am a beginner and I enjoy your picture here. I like the insects, I always think they make a great subject element when photographing plants and flowers. I like the BG color and the shallow DOF lets your daisy stand out and get noticed. Looking forward to seeing more.

You've drawn attention perfectly to the flower and caught it well, Patti, with your choices of composition and dof. It'a a difficult decision whether to clone out spots and imperfections or whether to accept nature ` as is ' - here I perhaps agree with Bill but I guess it's always a personal matter.

I like the mood in this Patti. Also the composition. I might darken the sunlit area a little in that I think it distracts a bit from the flower itself. I'd also clone out the dark spots on the flower. Welcome to the gallery. I look forward to seeing more of your work. This is a good place to be a beginner. At least it certainly has been for me.

Patti you have posted a nice image of thie field daisy. I'd say it is pretty good. The DOF is well mastered, the BG is nice. Only what I don't like are the small dark (insects) spots on the flower and the violett flower in the BG top left.

The bugs are gone! I agree it does look better without them.

Thanks!
