Breaking Wave

In the State of Maine who frequently have hurricanes path off our shorelines. Which creates spectacular surf. Usually this occurs with dark cloudy skies in poor light. This summer when hurricane Bill went by it was a bright sunny day with a great sky. So I took advantage of it and probably got one of the best surf shots of my life. We estimate the height of this breaking wave would be 200 feet.

Perfect timing Dave. Looks like you caught some great wave action. Wish I could see this larger.

200 feet!!! Amazing. This image has a real nice painterly look to it. I really like your timing and the point at which you stopped the action.

This is indeed impressive surf. Is it really splashing as high as those trees?

Awesome capture. Brings back memories of a time on Lake Superior in the UP, and watching the waves break against the rocky shore. Can't begin to imagine the power unleashed or the potential for damage. :toast:

Mind boggling! Once I get financially set up I want to be able to fly there at a moments notice and get in on this action!

Great shot.
