Plant Abstract 10

This is something new for me. This image was shot with a 300 mm lens with a 4X diopter. The idea was to throw the foreground out of focus and bring the background into focus.

I like the light and the complimentary colors and the halo of purple. Maybe pull the sat back a touch?

Dave, I like this type of shot. I just started photographing flowers this summer and I played with this type of comp quite abit. (Focusing through petals to get to the main subject.) I like the lighting on the yellow flower but it seems a tad out of focus, but to me that can add softness to this type of shot. Good Job. :toast:

Dave: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a fine first post here. I find crams with vivid colors difficult but you've pulled this off very well. Electric was my first impression. Great to have aboard.>=))> :wavey:

Vivid colouring, Dave and a good composition overall. Might personally have liked to see the anthers sharper as they are at the centre of the image, but that was perhaps not your intention. An eye catching image in any case.

Very ethereal, Dave. Keep experimenting and using this technique. It works.

I absolutely love these kind of shots. Colors are super and the wash effect is just about right. Wonderfully done for me, personally

Beautiful shot Dave. Love the complementary colors against the black bg. I might be tempted to corp a little all around to reduce the black on the borders but I like the image very much exactly as posted.

Wonderful colours and light and I like also the composition. I like this kind of see-through photos very much. If those anthers would be in focus it could make the image better but the yellow flower is bright enough to keep one's attention. The borders are too dark to my taste.
