This flower is from a tree peony at Cricket Hill Gardens, a local peony grower. Taken with CAnon 40D, using 100-400 IS lens.

Pat this is a beautiful photo. I'm always wondering myself how well you can manage the excellent DOF and to capture all outstanding details (especially obvious on the larger view).

An absolute beauty, Patricia ! I don't know how you've lit this to get such a soft, modulated bg and such delicately toned petals, but it's one of those rare images with a mood suggestive of a moment in time.

The lighting on the petals is striking, and with the dark background. makes this a very strong image. Love the blush of pink in there too :toast: :toast:
