Always daunting posting on here with the quality of the work so high. Tawharanui Regional Park North Isld New Zealand looking east at sunset.

Anchor Bay is named after the anchor of the Phoenix, a vessel wrecked off the Tawharanui coastline in 1879.

The Island on the horizon is little Barrier a wildlife sancturary.
This park is an open sancturary with a predator proof fence this all less than 2 hours from Auckland city.

Fits right in here Rod. Nice balance between the foreground rock and the land on the right. The island out there adds another nice touch. Clouds with the v-shape lead you right into the picture. Well composed. Nice work!

I like the lead in rock outcrop. Very nice composition. The cloud pattern adds to the capture. And the left side shore leads you out.

Beautifully composed. My eye sweeps right back from foreground right to background left. Well done.

Hi Rod,

This is very nice scene. The sky looks wonderful and the processing looks very natural. I also like how the topography all points toward the background and sky. A few suggestions:
1) your water to me looks slightly oversharpened
2) slightly darken the water highlights in right side of foreground - they are little distracting

Also, for future reference, I think your comp is bit tight on the left hand side of the rock I would have liked to see a bit more breathing room there. Also, if possible experiment with longer focal length to compress the scene - there is a lot of open space in that water.

I hope this helps.

Well thanks. I am pleased to say that I can give you more room around that rock  as I deliberately cropped in a little . You have a valid point about experimenting with longer lenses too I tend to get stuck at 17
