Ruby Crown

Many of you Kinglet fans know I've been chasing and posting images of these little guys for weeks. Occasionally I'm able to catch one and even rarer catch a male flashing his crown feathers. In desperation I shouted out at this guy... "How about showing your ruby crown before flying off," and he did! (If you believe that, I've got a bridge FOR SALE, cheap... in New York)

Good catch, Craig. You gave yourself a tough assignment photographing these guys, and the results have been great. Even though there's no eye contact, I like the inquisitive pose of this guy and the crown is a bonus. :toast:

It's nice to see that ruby crown... I'd like a little more eye contact, but then again it's a kinglet so... that's asking a lot!

Can you tell me more about this bridge? I certainly am anxious to get into the real estate market here and it sounds like you have a great opportunity for me!

I think Luke beat me to the bridge. I love this image. It shows the ruby crown so well. He is certainly a bird with attitude. Very nice feather details too.

Neat to get the crown like this Craig. It looks like you could have used a little more depth of field here but it looks like you didn´t have much light to work with. I´ve been enjoying your kinglet posts :toast:

Craig,

I like the red crown showing, the blackberry brambles in the background and the thorny cane the bird is perched on.

Congrats catching this little one sitting still Craig. Nice display of the namesake crown.
