Moorhen and Bottle

It took me a while to work out what was attracting this bird's attention. It turned out to be an upturned plastic bottle. Add to that a supermarket trolley, a partially submerged football and a few plastic bags and it's surprising that the pond is flourishing as it is. Man and nature interacting......

The Moorhen seems to be showing off and demonstrating how much more attractive he/she is than the garbage floating by. Another excellent shot from your spot which seems to have no bottom to its bounty.

Terrific image Ian. Great lighting and color, but, what makes it for me is the low perspective.

I absolutely love the perfectly blurred depth of field in the foreground and background with the bird perfectly in focus, as well as the unity of color in the bottle and the line of the water surface. The large empty spaces sort of remind me of what the environment will become if we continue to throw our trash in it.

Seen this so many times on Adirondack rivers and Lakes, cant understand whats wrong with people. Other than the bottle, beautiful shot Ian.
