The glow on the leaf veins really sets off the muted tones of the rest of the image nicely. Very nice image Mitch!

This is a wonderful intimate forest floor scene, Mitch. It sure does pay to look downward once in a while.

I really like the earthtones in this image. It was great seeing you and Kurt also. I hope to be back sometime next year; maybe in June for the lupines with a sidetrip over to the White Mountains in NH.

Mitch,

I'm so glad I opened this - This is superb! The intimate comp, subdued, yet rich golden tones - just a wonderfully captured image.

Two things came to my mind right away. The first being that I think this is a beautiful, natural "still life." I don't think I've ever used that term in the ES&S gallery - so that's a first. And secondly, I know it's not quite Christmas time yet, but I thought of the Christmas Song... "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...." Doubt those are chestnuts, but that's what came to mind.
