Silent Sentinels

Grove of fog shrouded oaks and hickories in the Shenandoah National Park. Had gone in search of fall foliage, but the fog was really, really thick. It was so quiet and peaceful, all I could hear was water dripping off the trees. All comments/suggestions much appreciated.

Great mood with the fog. Looks like you did a good job getting as much separation as possible between the trunks. Nice stuff.

I'm loving this Philip. To few of this type of scene get posted in flora, but the trees are definitely what this shot is all about. The fog really makes them mysterious.

Ahh... Philip. I'm a sucker for a fog shot to begin with but this is a really good fog shot IMO. Love the fg tree relative to the softer bg trees. I also like the way the ground and fog merge together at a vanishing point in the distance. Hope you can tell I like this one a lot. Wish it were mine.

I like the park-like setting of the trees, and the fog creates a serene mood. Nice composition :toast:
