Wow Doug, if this isn't nice I don't what is. Facinating work! :toast:

Was it hard shooting out of a plane at this hour? I love the warm cool contrast.

Thanks Steve. It was a little scary at first with the wind through the open window, and the guy behind me in the back seat got pretty cold. The high ISO capabilities of today's D-SLRs made a huge difference in shooting at the edge of the day from the air.

The contours, along with that subtle golden light contrasting with the cooler blues are amazing. Excellent work Doug!

Wow, what great shot Doug. That light hitting those peaks is awesome, very nice. I like how you kept the cool tones in the shadows to compliment the warm tones, nicely done.

Awesome Doug

Sometimes the beauty of the land really unfolds when you take to the air. I cant imagine how beautiful it must have been. Perfect light and was this sunrise or nearing sunset. Well composed

Wow, that's a killer image Doug. And very unique - cause the vantage point is so elusive in that case. Congrats!

Hey Doug,

uhhmm .. ONE of the guys in the backseat behind you got cold .. the other one was doing just dandy. :)

Great image .. I might have used 2.8 and shot a little faster .. 1/350 is borderline for shooting from the plane, I think.

The light was killer that night. the warm/cool contrast makes this sing.

Cheers

Incredible light and your diagonal lines comp is exceptional considering it was from a moving plane. The blues in the shadows up top are a touch too strong on my monitor, but I do like the warm cool contrast also.

Your "out the plane window" collection is making me sick. Once again, amazing. The glow, the texture of the land, the color contrast - you've perfected the presentation to really showcase this wonderful moment.
