A Fire in Grand Tetons

by Andrey Antov

My heart stopped when I saw the smoke coming out from the forests next to the Tetons a few weeks ago. That was the second fire in the area (after the one in Yellowstone). The air was saturated with smoke for miles around

Nikon D200, 18-200mm Nikkor, C-PL filter. Tripod.

Thank you for your comments.

The pano composition really gives an incredible sense of scale, which increases the impact of the photo immensely.

The smoke from these fires can be pretty impressive. I saw this fire, and tried to get close to it for some dramatic shots. Just couldn't find the right access, though. Toward the end of the day, I used the smoke to take some atmospheric shots. If I find them, I'll post.
