Kangaroo Island, South Australia

I've kept away from seascapes most of the year to build up my portfolio in other sorts of landscapes. However I returned to the sea to keep up the skills recently. These are rock platforms facing a particularly fierce section of the Southern Ocean, nothing between here and Antarctica!

Canon 1DsMkIII, 16-35mm 2.8L, ISO 100, f11, 2.5s, 4 stop reverse GND.

Cooool! Sweet water action all over the place, Kah Kit. Nicely done. I like the combo of whitewater and the dark, menacing clouds.

Don't know what to say here Kah Kit. "Magical" is the first word that came to mind and I think I'll leave it at that. An exceptional image I think, even by the stds of this gallery.

Outstanding coastal image, Kah. By themselves, the rocks would probably be a bit dark to have much interest, but the swirling water over the top of them looks great. Well done.

i love the FG - the lines created by the water is fabulous. the sky seems strongly vignetted - but that could just be the patterns in the clouds at that moment. nice, ominous work.

Spectacular image! Love all the white lines of foam in the water. Might like to see a little more detail in the cliffs.

Lovely shot. Especially like the movement of the water over the reef. Your reverse GND has done a good job here. Need to get one for myself. Well done.

Beautifully captured dramatic waterscape-scene. Love how it depicts the violent sea but somehow still looks fantastic and gorgeous. Great details in the foreground.

My, what drama and beauty, you sure haven't lost your seascape touch! The cloud upper left is a bit dark, other than that just spectacular!

A beautiful and dramatic shot, Kah Kit. I love the combo of colors in the shot, especially the greens of the ocean against the sky reds. The lightened section of cloud in the middle is a nice touch to the comp to relieve the heaviness. Spectacular work.

I remember this from P.net. Fantastic work Kah Kit. One of your best seascapes. I love the depth, and the placement of those two holes in the reef really anchors the comp nicely.

Beautiful. Love the lines everywhere.

My only nit is the contrast between major lights and darks seem just a tad too much for my eye.

Still a very cool image.

Movement, movement, movement:) The movement of the water causes you to constantly explore every detail of this shot. The mood and drama of the sky is excellent!
