Joe already put up his dune shots from our first night hanging at Great Sand Dunes, so everyone has already been shocked and awed by the incredible
llama light monsoon storm we caught at sunset. So, even though you are inured to it at this point, here's one of my shots from that night. I've got to get images up on the board faster next time . . . damn you Joe!

20 commentsJust fabulous clouds and shadows in the dunes. Those windswept piles of sand look like they're trying to reach up into the clouds and join them on a march 'cross the sky. I might like to see some fill light in the lower right FG. My eye seems to want to go there with questions, but it could be my monitor not showing enough detail. A wonderful image, Ian...
Killer shot Ian, those clouds coming in are awesome.
Spectacular!

It's really amazing how similarly you both saw the lines ..great shot
Wonderful landscape from the Great Sand Dunes. The light and shadows of the dunes are only surpassed by that awesome sky. But what's amazing to me is that the dunes are what I see first and as dramatic as the cloud and sky is, it doesn't overpower the scene.
Great image all the way around.
