Raspberry Curve

Not completely happy with this shot. Shooting position was awkward with thorns pricking and what not.

ND200, AF-S 105mm F/2.8 VR Lens, F/16, 1/25 Sec, ISO200, Tripod and some excellent shooting conditions.

Any and all thoughts will be appreciated.

Ram,

The selective dof is the strength of the image IMO. I was considering what this would be like if you hit the corners exactly and I'm not really sure that improves it. I like the minimalism, i really like the selective dof but the shape itself isn't complex enough to hold my long term interest and there's not a lot going on in the rest of the image to grab onto. Even so, I've enjoyed studying it and it did immediately catch my eye.

Pat, I avoid corners for entry but as you said it may not do much to the shot.

I like the simplicity of this image. Just line and colour.

A touch of elegance about this, Ram. I guess my only nit is that the lower left area is a little bland - from the line of the edge to the top right this is perfect for me.

Ram, This is an absolute beauty. Personally i think a corner entry would seem too contrived. Though i wonder what it would look like with the curl not in the exact centre, maybe a little towards the bottom...

Another fine abstract, Ram. Would rotating so that the lines enter and exit the sides of the image help? I probably wouldn't have thought of it had you not mentioned...

Hi Ram - this is a really nice abstract. Since you're on the fence, I have a suggestion. While holding the edges (in curves) why don't you try deepening the midtones a bit. Although you will lose some of the contrast; I believe this will become a bit more luscious. It goes without saying, but I will anyway - I really enjoy your work!

We have the same taste in how to shoot flowers. I love the selective focus and abstract feel
