These wild iris were growing dead center in this small pond. Couldn't resist. Taken with Canon 20D with 100-400 IS lens.

Comments welcomed.

Hi Patricia....this is wonderful ...love the surreal nature of this image. ....and the fact that the flowers are visible. One bit more exposure ..well thats a personal choice really ...

Whoa Patricia! What a great minimalistic shot. Wonderful comp (though I would not mind seeing it off center with the stand of irises to the left), and great looking water. I never find water this clean...did you have to clone out any 'floaties'?

Lovely picture! The centered composition is perfect for me. I like the mood of soft sadness coming from the grey background.

great reflections, a bit of bright color, perfect dof and neutral BG to focus attention on the subject. EP contender for sure.

Posted this as I was leaving for vacation (without computer access), and just discovered that it won the weekly pick. Thanks to all for your kind words and suggestions, and to the editors for their recognition.

The picture is "as taken" except for the addition of a slight blue hue.
