Pastels...red white blue

by Ken Smith

Gallery: FloraPosted June 29, 2009606 views24 comments
A theme, red white and blue, for the week. Seen in pastels.

Nikon D300, Zeiss 100mm macro, F2.8, 1/125 shutter

A bit disappointed w/stamen and more pistols oof...but, the pesky wind hasn't stopped when I am around for a reshoot.

Cool shot Ken I love the soft colors and the open flower plus a bud makes for a nice image. The color wash BG is great. :toast: Jack

This is a slight cut above what is normally seen.
This is simply excellent!

This is a beauty, Ken. I'm not bothered by some parts that are out of focus.

very pretty. Such soft colours. I wish the bg on the right would be more even ,not so light.
The colours are amazing!

Ken, this is literallly luminous! The interaction between the pastel tones and fine detail (which remind us that this is real, not just a dream) and composition is delightful and wholly satisfying.

The colors are magical in this Ken and it's a gorgeous image.

Do you like the Zeiss 100, I'm toying with the notion of getting one?

Thanks all for the kind and generous comments. 100 mm Zeiss...Pat, yes I like it. Bought it used from B&H. For 90% of my garden shots...the Zeiss 35mm or 100 mm macro are used. And for portraits too....as long as there is plenty of time for my slow eye to focus. Ken S
