It was pouring rain in sheets and blowing as I drove up to Thompson Pass to walk the dogs. I almost didn't bother to take the camera because it was so nasty out. As I pulled the truck off the road and let the dogs out I noticed that the clouds and fog were getting fairly thin. On a hunch that it might just clear up a bit I turned back to the truck and put the camera in my back pack. When I turned back around this was the scene I was confronted with. After taking a few shots I hung the camera around my neck, put the rain gear in the backback and enjoyed a beautiful, invigorating hike up the mountain. You just never know, so don't EVER leave that camera home!

If you look at the large version you can see another one of the dogs headed off to fetch the pot of gold at the left side of the rainbow

Far too often I've left my camera behind thinking that the conditions weren't any good, only to find myself running back to the car a short time later to fetch the camera.
