I was photographing this rose and started playing around at f/2.8 and thought this was really interesting. I enhanced this with some filters in photoshop.

Neat effect Zack. I like the contrasty petal edges and the soft centre. There is almost a bit too much open space in the middle for my taste though. Neat lines!

I agree with Cindy the sharpness of the edges adds a lot to the piece. My eye keeps getting a bit distracted in the middle, maybe just a touch more detail there too might add a pop at the end. I love the coloring and the flow.
