Shot this at sunrise in Hayden Valley in August during the rut. Canon 1D mark III with 100-400mm at 200mm. Full image no croping was done.

Beautiful warm color Tamara. I like the graphic quality of your shot, too.

I like this very much. If I were to get real picky I would wish for a little more space above and on the left side, but this is a pleasing, colorful post.

Hi Tamara and welcome to NPN :wavey: Your first post is a stunning image! I really like this (I am a sucker for colorful silhouettes...) though ideally I think this would be even better with the horn and ear of the front Bison also visible like on the second one. As Lon pointed out, a bit more room on top and to the left would also enhance this already great image further. :toast:

(PS: don't tell anyone but you are already a candidate for this weeks EP!)

Hi Tamara,

Welcome to the NPN Fauna Gallery - I hope this is only the first of many visits (and postings).

This is obviously a dramatic capture and has a strong graphic appeal. I almost hate to look for nits in an image like this, but would agree with both Lon and Vincent re: the slightly tight framing on top left side and that this strong image would be even stronger if the lead animal was showing a horn. But these are trivial points and hardly detract from the strong visual appeal of this image...

Cheers...looking forward to seeing more from you...

Brad

Classic western icon... Remington would be proud. The silhouettes seem a tad bit soft... would some sharpening help?

Wow! I've shot a lot of bison in Hayden Valley, but never anything this dramatic. Congratulations!
