Biting The Bullet

I spent a couple days camping with friends on Cedar Mesa this week. We hiked into Bullet Canyon on Tuesday, despite warnings from the ranger of an impassable ice chute in the upper reaches of the canyon. We found the ice chute to be easily passable, though it did make for quite dramatic photos of the adventure. Here's one of my friend Levi scrambling down on our way into the canyon.

Thanks for having a look and leaving a comment.

Yes, I can see the easy route down. I would just hope to stop sliding before I hit the rock wall at the end.

You must have been born with ice crampons on your feet if you think this is "easily passable." I like the perspective, and the cool tones of the ice (especially at the bottom of the chute) contrast well with the warm rock on the left side.

Looks like a place that would have stimulated me to do something stupid: sliding down the ice in the center. A nice documentary of the adventure.

Bret---Looks like golf shows would be OK here! Love the colors, as usual. Nice job

Should have brought crampons!
Excellent image, Bret. I love the light and composition here. I can see this in an outdoor adventure magazine.

Bret, as clumsy as I am I can truly see the rangers point here. For those that have a bit of grace to their feet maybe not so bad.
Congratulations on the EP selection here in this category. A true story telling shot. :toast:

Easily passable?? Oh my... I sure like Guy's suggestion about a submission to an outdoor adventure and/or photography mag. This is great, Bret!

I'm with Didl and Paul, I would act first and think about it later... most likely at a hospital

Great control of the lighting here and good job with documentary photography!
