This poppy anemone was past its best but I still felt it worth a shot.

Canon 400D, 100mm Macro lens, 6 secs @ f25, natural light indoors.

Great detail and color. Very intense feel to this, I like it very much. Wonderful comp, those curvy lines really add interest. :toast: :toast: :toast:

A beautiful lifting for the old poppy, Ian, it really doen't show its age thanks to the excellent work of the photographer in capture and editing. I think that the vertical frame adds movement.
Take care.

Nice range of light here Ian, it almost looks like and HDR image. I also love the wonderful sweeping curves in your comp.

Superb,

Love this one Ian. Great composition, very fine detail in the center and six o'clock petal and the colors are rich and beautiful. Exceptional work in every respect. Certainly one of my favorites.

Wonderful sweeping lines, and great details Ian. I love the color too. Sorry to correct your ID, but I think that this is an anemone. (though called a poppy anemone)

See some info here.

Ian, that's a gorgeous painting. If Robert Bateman painted flower closeups I imagine they would look something like this. A fine interpretation of color, line and texture.

Oh my! Ian, this is so nice! The color and detail on fg petals and flower center is spot on. I like the little softness along the right side for a feeling of some depth. Very lovely, indeed, and well worthy of the Pick. Congrats. :toast:
