This was taken last spring, when this female RWBB was building her nest.
D50, 70-300vr@300, f7.1, 1/1000,-0.3, hand held, natural light.
I took this from a blind at some distance from the nest. I took care not to disturb the nesting behavior.

Nice feel to this one Dan. I like the hint of a second reed on the right side and the nesting material in the beak is sweet. Well done.

This is really nice Dan - the behavioral aspect really shines for me, I love that wispy background and the bird is great. Super image!

This is a beautiful image, the composition really sings, the soft gray background compliments the warm tones of the bird and the reed perch very nicely. Sweet details and sharpness.

Great shot Dan!! I too have never seen that much color on a female, the photo would be cool enough just for that. I agree though that the behavior captured adds a lot. Congrats on the EP!
