Anemone

Sea Anemone, California Coast. A tough picture to take with my lens an inch from the surface of a tidepool, my tripod precariously positioned on wet rocks, trying not to drop my remote release, lens, or myself into the tidepool, and taking extra care not to disturb other plants around me, all the while it was raining and getting dark. Comments and critiques appreciated

I think this is a very cool image, Greg. Great color, detail and lines. And given the unusual perspective is also carries the mystery of 'what in the world is this?'

Agree with above, I like the odd perspective that makes you wonder just what it is you are looking at.

The lack of an immediate sense of scale or usual perspective to grab onto makes this something different - great patterns, lines and colour.

Congrats on the EP Greg! An amazing life form and one I will likely never encounter on my own. Thanks for sharing it with me.

Congrats on a terrific shot under trying conditions. It's great to see this uncommon view (close up) of the anemonae. Nice going.

It is impossible to identify it without your explanation. The form ,shape and colors make it work.
