You know you are a city guy when you get excited about getting a shot of a rabbit :)

This was near the 16th hole of the golf course I was staying by in Courtenay BC. I saw it and quickly dropped to my belly. Tried a few flash shots but the red-eye was wicked. Crawled forward on the ground, propped my 300 f4 IS on my elbows and fired away without flash.

Cheers,

Oh but there are some very famous wildlife photographers who are very happy with good rabbit shots! I think this one is very good! The colours are very beautiful and warm. Having that little extra burst of colour in the high left and that bit of high grass in the low right adds a lot to the strength of the image. And then the 'pose' of the rabbit is lovely. It looks curious and a little bit cautious at the same time. I for certain would be very exited with a shot like this too  .

You know, Robert, I have been doing nature photography for approximately 20 years... 15 years seriously..and I do NOT have ONE good rabbit image!! I like this one a LOT!!! The OOF background with splashes of color, the tack sharp bunny and a great composition move this one to the top for me!

Thankyou all for the comments. This simple scene was so much fun for me to take. I had to stalk, wriggle on my belly trying to get close, and finally try to hide myself in the grass. All the while hoping a golfer would not happen by just at that moment.

The thrill of the hunt, :jump:

Ah, wilderness. The soft BG colors are outstanding, and isolate the rabbit well. Good one!

I like to go to the last page to see what jewel I can find, and I certainly succeeded here. Such a fabulous image. Love the placement of the bunny, and the BG is wonderful.
