Cold Camping

Here is our campsite at 8000 ft. where Adrian Klein and myself weathered the craziest windstorm either of us had been subjected to in the wild, gusts of 60+ mph. The storm lasted for 2 days, and we barely left our tents for those days, not even cooking meals, just eating bars and other cold food. We both did stay very warm, as we came prepared for this kind of weather, but we didn't get much sleep as the wind would howl all night long.

We did end up having one beautiful morning of shooting, which made the whole trip worth while.

Great shot! And good for you guys for being experienced and prepared for such weather. What a story and this image is way beyond just a 'memory snap' - it really takes me into your world and the conditions. Darwin

The lit tents contrasting with the cold looking landscape really works well. Superb M&N shot.

Very nice, I get a real feeling of the tenacity and toughness of human beings in a harsh environment.

Aaaacckkk. I hate being stuck in the tent. Still a day in a tent is usually better than a day in the office.

Nice interior lighting on the tents.

Beautiful house guys! Really nice to see your hunting ground. I wonder what light you used to illuminate the tents - I use candles and they give a much warmer feel. The incandescent light you've used gives it a bit of a cold feel - but I am sure it was colder than it looks!

Love this one Zack. I think you for sure got the best shot of this scene between us. Excellent work! That sure was a great trip, we will have to do it again! Congrats on the EP, well deserved.

Great shot, my fingers feel cold just thinking about you crawling out of a sleeping bag and holding the camera in the wind.

Too bad I'm too far away - I would definitely be interested in such a trip, despite the bad weather you had that time.
