Getting ready to leave for a medical conference in Anaheim next week so I may not be on the board much. Going to go to Anaheim from LAX via King's Canyon and Yosemite. Talk about a scenic route! Anyway, this is one of our pipe vines which is loaded with these blooms. The larger one is about 8-10 inches in the body. The tail is well over a foot. Used a black mat for the BG. All comments welcome. >=))>

Superb composition Bill and the bg works perfectly IMO - an exceptional image in every sense. What is your light source?

Very, very cool Bill. I have never seen these before. I love the BG and how it sets off the blooms. Great shot. Enjoy the conference, and the drive.

Can I come visit your backyard? Great take of this exotic bloom... one I've never seen before. Would love to see a close up of the smaller green one when you get back.

Bill, the detail, BG, color and light are all fantastic! The thumbnail makes it look like a seahorse, but your title is fitting!

Thanks Bill, for sharing first the excellent photo and second a flower (?) quite new for me (from the leaves seem part of the Lonicera family. It's possible?) . I like your frame too.
Cheers.
