Acorns and Chestnut

Nikon D300, Zeiss 35 mm, F22 and 6 sec exposure with polarizer.

Spent the last week working and making site visits to Baker City OR and Spokane, WA. This was a shot of some items collected while walking for a little exercise. Didn't have opportunity to take any landscapes. I do enjoy the east side of cascades this time of the year. Ken S

Wow, Ken - this is fantastic! I love the details, earthy colors, and the soft lighting. My only suggestion (a small one) would be to either clone or crop a smidge from the left to eliminate the orangish line in the lower left corner, as it draws my eye away...

Gorgeous fall presentation!!! :toast:

This is as fine a work of art as I recall seeing done with a camera. I don't expect to be able to make the same caliber of image but I should have the Zeiss 50 here on Monday or Tuesday and am looking forward to it. I actually got the idea from your last post but I need a 50 at this point.

Again. A superb image.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. (good call: need to clone out that leaf slice at llc) As to that Zeiss, it is my fav lens. This Zeiss is so clean and seems to deliver a 3d effect. Ken S

Ken, this is absolutely gorgeous. I do not often see images this good. Very minor and subjective - get rid of the very thin lighter strip at left/bottom.

Great combination of elements Ken. This is really pretty. I could use it lightened just a tad.

Nathan

Edit: Although, this amount of light makes the shot feel almost 'antique' for me - so I do like that. Great all around.

Ken, you have composed a beautiful image with a great taste for colors. The capture of the composition is a perfect photographic work. I really love the photo! A still life painting, one of the most splendid that I have seen taken with a camera.
Take care.

I would never guess this would strike a chord with folks. It is pleasant having a photo that is at the crossroads for what I like to shoot and what others enjoy viewing. Ken S

Beautiful composition and selection of related, both in color and seasonal, items. You did take a landscape, only it was imagined and presented by you. Well done!
