Tri-colored Heron

Egretta tricolor

Taken at a local county park last week. I liked the color combinations and the foamy water.

D200, HH, 75% of original image, cropped to remove some unwanted water. f6.3, 1/2000, ISO 250, 80-400mm VR at 370mm.

It has been a crazy, busy week, sorry I haven't had as much time to comment as normal.

Your comments & critiques are appreciated.

Outstanding presentation. I like the background, the splash of foam in the air, the foam at the bird's feet and the bird. So pretty well like everything about this.

I like everything about it too! Might add a touch of saturation on the bird. The foam adds a nice touch.

Wow! Really stunning Lia; this one really pops for me. The wonderful sharpness of the heron against the soft BG; the shadow on the breaking wave and drops frozen in mid-air by virtue of the shutter speed, all conspire to give this image a 3D appearance. I'd be hanging this one on the wall

Very cool image. The foam adds a nice element to this image. Might add a touch of saturation. I'd look at cloning out a few of the foamy "drops" in the upper part of the image. For me that are a bit of a distraction. Congrats on a really unusual image.

Couldn't be better IMO. The light on the bird and the foamy wave make this special. Great sharpness and detail on the heron and I love how the frozen wave shows about a half dozen "arches". An exceptional image Lia.

There's that combination again of surf and herons - can't get used to it. beautiful shot Lia. The water, braced stance and flying foam really make it.
