Getting the low angle

Yesterday I was walking towards a friend & fellow photographer at a local county park when I spotted two birds I wanted to take some shots of. A Piping Plover and an immature Black Skimmer were posed rather nicely, so I got into my normal shooting position to take the shots.

It just goes to show you should not trust a friend who has a very long lens! This photo came to me by email last night, I wasn't even aware the pictures had been taken.

I usually post in Avian and people there have asked me how I get such low angles, this image shows perfectly how I get them! :jump:

I'm usually sandier & messier than I am in this image, but not long before this I had been in the water up to my upper thighs photographing a dolphin off shore and the waves had cleaned off some of the dirt.

My thanks to the friend who took this photo!

This is just about how I imagined your technique Lia. It's nice that your friend got some birds in the background and very appropriate that he/she caught a breaking wave too. A perfect shot of you for this forum!

I was quite sure that was the technique. I just happened on this one. I just can't get up when I get down that low  Good to see you Lia.
