This one didn't go all the way but did make it into the finals of this years Nature's Best competition
I guess I'll have to come up with something better next year

Good composition on this - the arms of the stump are reaching out to the primaries.

I can't imagine why this didn't make it all the way!!. Contests are kind of fickle. To my eye it is great.

It's a beauty, Dennis. Great pose in the bird and a wonderful perch. It's a really great composition. the must have been some stiff competition.

Stellar photo Dennis. Technically and asthetically wonderful. His tail area looks a little bit...shall I say, soiled. That happens on an all fish diet I guess.

This looks great, the depth of field is outstanding at f5.6. Winning image must have been some shot.

THIS REALLY IS AN EXCEPTIONAL IMAGE YOU HAVE DENNIS. DON'T KNOW WHY IT DIDN'T GO "ALL THE WAY" BUT YOU SHOULD BE VERY HAPPY WITH YOUR CAPTURE. COMPOSITION, ACTION POSE AND UPCOMING PERCH ALL WORKING SO NICELY, CONGRATS

We see lots of bald eagle photos but this one is over the top. The perch is great and the comp is perfect IMO.

Regardless of what Nature's Best thought, this is a sure winner! I will admit the competion is stiff and it's a great magazine. Perhaps you should have PS'd a fish in the talons?? The light, the pose, the everything...Keep up the GREAT work Dennis!
