Hello again. Just a photo update. Love NPN and have been a member somewhere around two years but have acquired 20 years of helpful information from fellow members. I speak to everyone about the value of being a member of NPN, and proudly display the NPN patch I received when I first joined NPN, on the front of my photo vest. Love photography as well as oil paintings I paint from my photographs ( photo of mine of a hummer that I am still working on) then I have them reproduced as 20 x 30 gallery wraps. Between photography, oil paintings, doing shows, and family I am never bored. Cheers to all of you and thanks for all the comments, good and bad, of my photographs.Oh yeah, I still ride my harley but not as much as I use to.

Hi Jackie,

Photography and painting are a great combination. My local club used to have a local watercolor painter come and present. He made photographs of subjects he found on his travels, then painted from the. It was very interesting to see the original photograph, then the painting he made from it. The paintings (watercolor in this case), were always distillations of the photograph. It made it pretty clear what it was about the scene that attracted his interest. I have a couple of books about composing paintings because of that experience. Most of the photography books about composition are very lifeless, but look for a painter you like and you start to see how they're orchestrating their canvas, paper, whatever.

Anyhow, good to see you. I admire your photography and appreciate your participation at NPN.
